Meccha Matcha 

Overview:

Meccha Matcha is a specialty matcha store located in the Squirrel Hill neighborhood of Pittsburgh. They are a small chain with a couple locations spread throughout the US. Here, you can order lattes, specialty desserts, and soft or hard-serve ice cream.

Iced Matcha Latte 

The Food:

We ordered the soft serve ice cream and an iced matcha latte. The ice cream was better than most I have had in a while. Matcha has a very distinct and robust flavor. This was very pronounced in this soft serve. I only got the level 1 of 3 intensity. If you are a matcha fan you can get a stronger matcha flavor in your ice cream or drink for a little more money. The latte was also great and had milk mixed in to balance the strong matcha flavor. 

Service:

Meccha Matcha's staff was friendly during the visit. I ordered and got my ice cream and latte in a short time. 

Atmosphere:

The inside of Meccha Matcha is decorated well. You can find bright Japanese decorations on the wall and the menu screens are placed in a cool fashion. There are only a few tables inside but enough for a few people to sit at each table.

Meccha Matcha uses high-quality ingredients in its ice cream and lattes. Finding a place that specializes in traditional Japanese matcha sourced from Japan is refreshing. So if you are looking to try different flavors of ice cream, Meccha Matcha is a great choice!
