Overview:

Togyu Asian BBQ is a Korean BBQ restaurant located in Cranberry Mall. They specialize in grilling meats, veggies, and seafood on a hot grilltop. You can choose from a wide variety of things to cook and they also have appetizers. The main dining experience is the all-you-can-eat, which costs $39 for adults, $16 for children 9-12, and $10 for children 4-8. Togyu also offers takeout and delivery. The takeout food just seems to be the all-you-can-eat food, but served a la carte. Below are the hours of operation.

The food at Togyu was very intriguing. If you choose the all-you-can-eat option, they provide a large menu from which to select your desired grilling items. We decided to order a bunch of appetizers before cooking on the grill. Some of the items we got were yakitori, pork gyoza, and bulgogi nachos. My favorite appetizer was the bulgogi nachos, which were made with crispy wontons, beef, and cheese.

For our main dishes, we ordered ribeye, NY strip, garlic curry beef, pork belly, and they also give you vegetables in an aluminum container. The vegetables were just ok and I think they give them to you to fill everyone up on cheaper food. I thought the meats themselves were mixed in flavor. Some of them, like the pork belly and ribeye were great. The rest were not as flavorful. Also, the meats were not well seasoned. They probably want you to add seasoning through the gochujang sauce and ponzu sauces they provide.

Unfortunatley after eating the food, I did feel sick for a few days. It was probably due to our not cooking some of the meat all the way through. That is what you risk when going to a place where you cook the food yourself.

Service:

Our waitress was very friendly and helped explain the confusing setup they have of how to order and cook everything. I usually feel overwhelmed at Korean BBQ and hot pot places due to the sheer number of things on the menu and stuff to cook in front of you. She was able to get all our orders in evern though we had a large group.

Atmosphere:

Dining Room

The inside of Togyu is very minimalistic. The walls are colored white, red, and black with lots of lights on the ceiling. I did not notice too many decorations besides some wreaths for Christmas.

Rating: Average |⭐⭐⭐✩✩|

I was hoping for Togyu Asian BBQ to be better than it was. Since it was exclusively BBQ and not also hot pot, it gave me hope for better quality. Instead, it was of lesser quality than the other hot pot BBQ place I tried, Hong. It was even more disappointing that I felt sick after eating here. The food was good for the most part, but some of it was not seasoned well. Additionally, the price of $39 for dinner is steep in my opinion, and I found it hard to get my money's worth.
