The Food:

Red Orchid combines fresh veggies and proteins and cooks them all in hot woks. You can ask for your food to be spicy on a scale from 1 to 10. I ordered the avocado green curry and got a level 4 spice. It was hot enough for me and gave the green curry a great kick. The avocados were a great addition to the curry and with the rice it made for a filling meal. For appetizers, we had the wonton soup and the summer rolls. I thought the summer rolls were really good with tons of veggies. If you do not like basil do not get these as they are loaded with it. Red Orchid also has good wonton soup with a good broth and delicious dumplings. For dessert, we got the black sticky rice with pumpkin custard. This is always a favorite and comes out warm with a cherry on top!

Service:

We decided to eat in the dining room, but they also offer takeout. The service was standard and our food came out in a reasonable time even though they were busy.

Atmosphere:

Inside Red Orchid, you will first see the takeout area where online orders are kept. To the right is the dining room with a decent number of tables. The inside has cool Thai decorations on the wall but it does not feel over-decorated.

Rating: Excellent |⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐|

Red Orchid is one of my favorite Thai restaurants in Pittsburgh. It always has consistently great food and you can get it quickly too if you order online. My favorite part of the food is the freshness and spice-level customization. You can get it a little spicy or burning hot! If you want good Thai food in Pittsburgh, try Red Orchid!
