Proof Bakery 

Overview:

Proof Bakery is a great breakfast spot to check out while you are in the Outer Banks. They serve a limited menu of baked goods and sandwiches. You can get danishes, croissants, honey buns, and the most popular item, donuts. The hours for Proof Bakery are Mon-Sat 7-2, and they are closed on Wednesday and Sunday. Ordering can be done in person or online for pickup, and there is no delivery.

The Food:

For our first time here, we tried two dozen of the donuts. These are yeast donuts, and are less sweet than the normal ones you would find at Dunkin. Most of the sweetness comes from the toppings. They are also enormous, with each one being as big as a bagel! My favorite flavor was the Oreo crumble, but some of the other great flavors were the strawberry and toasted coconut. When you bite into these donuts, you also get a satisfying crunch from being fried to a crispy perfection! The inside of the donuts is airy, light, and soft.

Service:

We waited about 20 minutes to get to the front of the line and order our donuts. The staff was very nice in helping us pick out donuts for our first time and told us which flavors were the best. Everything was coming out fresh from the kitchen as we ordered the donuts, since they were still making them. 

Atmosphere:

The inside of Proof Bakery is quaint and small. You walk in and are immediately in line for the donuts. Once you're done ordering, the exit is behind you to the right. We noticed some cool T-shirts they had for sale that were themed after Breaking Bad.

Proof Bakery is a simple place to visit that has delicious and fresh bread, pastries, and donuts made fresh daily. I would highly recommend coming in the morning when they first open.
