Clarion River Brewing Company

Overview:

I recently travelled through the town of Clarion, right off Interstate 80, and was looking for something good to eat. Did a quick Google search for restaurants and came across Clarion River Brewing Company. It looked like the best of the results, so we decided to give the place a try. They have a variety of beers, which are brewed in-house. Additionally, the menu focuses on burgers, sandwiches, and fish. They only offer dine-in eating, no takeout or delivery. Below are the hours of operation.

Beers On Tap

CRBC reminds me a lot of the breweries you find back home in Pittsburgh. It has a warm contemporary vibe with lots of cool pictures and wood signs on the walls. I took a quick scan of the beers on tap and chose the Leatherwood English Brown Ale. This turned out to be the restaurant's signature beer, and it did not disappoint. It had a dark amber taste, but it was not too bitter; it was perfectly balanced.

For my dinner, I took a look at the food menu and was immediately intrigued by the beer-battered haddock. I feel like most places always have beer-battered cod or tilapia. I cannot remember ever seeing haddock on a menu anywhere. This led me to get the entree portion of the haddock with two sides, broccoli, and French fries. 

I was amazed at how crispy the batter was, and according to the menu, it has 1841 Amber beer in it. The haddock on the inside was meaty, sweet, and tender. Our waitress also informed us that the tangy tartar sauce is made in-house, and you could tell because it was amazing! The fries and broccoli were a nice complement to the fish, which was the main star of the show.

Our waitress at Clarion River Brewing Company was super friendly. She helped us look over the menu since it was our first time here. The kitchen was also super quick, and our food came out in good time. 

Atmosphere:

The inside of Clarion River Brewing feels very modern and trendy. There are lots of stained wood panels on the walls. I noticed that it looked like it was recently painted inside. However you also have old vintage diner-looking floors. The brewery also has two sides, one for the bar and the other is the restaurant where we sat.

Clarion River Brewing Company was a great search pull I was able to find while looking for something good to eat in Clarion, PA. The staff here were all friendly and invited us to come back again soon. The atmosphere reminded me of a brewery you can find in Pittsburgh. Best of all was the food. My beer and fish were out of this world, and this definitely warrants me to come back and try something else next time I go to Clarion!
