Moonlit Burgers (Garfield)

Overview:

Moonlit Burgers is a local chain of restaurants in Pittsburgh. The original location is in Dormont, while the rest are in Uptown, Sewickley, and Garfield. I decided to try the Garfield location, which is also the newest one as of now. Moonlit Burgers serves a small menu of burgers, fries, chicken, salad, and chili. We decided to eat inside during the weekend for dinner. You can dine in, order takeout, or have it delivered. The hours of operation are listed below.

The Food:

The dinner we had at Moonlit Burgers was really good. I was happy to see they have a small menu. This usually means the restaurant can focus on making fewer items that taste really good. I was really impressed with the taste of the burgers. They were cooked perfectly, and the toppings were fresh and delicious. The sandwiches and fries were portioned well. Additionally, the prices were reasonable and not outrageous. 

Shoestring Fries

The shoestring fries were hot, perfectly salted, and served in a big basket for $4.

Chili Cheese Fries

The chili cheese fries come with beef chili, cheese sauce, shredded cheddar, and pickled jalapeno.

The moon bird chicken sandwich is pickled brined before frying for extra flavor. 

The Big Mick

Moonlit Burger's take on the Big Mac, the Big Mick has double patties, American cheese, griddled onions, moon sauce, pickles, fries, slaw, hot sauce, on a Martin's potato roll.

The classic Moonlit double and bacon double cheeseburgers are slightly smaller than the Big Mick but are still very filling.

Service:

I was very surprised by the service we had at Moonlit Burgers. You place your order at the counter, and they give you a number to bring to your table. Once we were served our food, they came back constantly to check on how we were doing. Not just the server who brought us our order, but other staff members came by to ask how the food was.

Atmosphere:

I thought the atmosphere inside Moonlit was really nice. They have really nice, bright, and colorful decorations throughout the restaurant. You can sit at one of the tables or at the half-moon bar in the back with TVs on the wall.

I was blown away by the perfect experience I had at Moonlit Burgers in Garfield. I try to judge any restaurant I go to by the three basic categories of food, service, and atmosphere. This place knocked it out of the park in all three categories. Our food was fresh, the workers were all friendly, and the atmosphere was cool and inviting. I think Moonlit Burgers is my new favorite burger place in Pittsburgh. The smash burgers they serve are dynamite and make for a filling meal!
